Situational Counseling
The aim of the situational intervention is to reduce the stress of an event,
improving
the individual's coping strategies in that particular condition, and providing
emotional
support.
Situational counseling is a type of counseling that can
help individuals deal with the crisis by offering assistance and support. This sort of
counseling intends to be quite concise, normally lasting for a period of no longer than
a few weeks. But one important thing to note is that there is a difference between
situational counseling and psychotherapy. In the broadest sense, situational counseling
can be defined as a counseling practice that is designed to meet the requirements of an
individual in a particular situation.
